State employees represented by United University Professions (UUP) who are eligible to observe holidays can declare their preference for holiday pay for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day by submitting a waiver of compensatory time for holiday work by May 15, 2024.
If you do not want to change your holiday pay option, no action is required. You do not need to submit a new form.
UUP employees who are required to work on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day or both, in addition to their regular compensation for the day, can choose to receive time-and-a-half of holiday pay instead of time-and-a-half of comp-time for working on these holidays.
UUP employees who are required to work on New Year’s Day may, in addition to their regular compensation for the day, choose to receive straight time holiday pay instead of straight time holiday comp-time for such work.
You must be eligible to observe holidays and required to work by your supervisor.
The State Benefits office will be unable to respond to emails or calls to confirm that your form has been received. You will receive a confirmation if your submission to the UB Box was successful. Employees who submit their forms via fax should save their fax confirmation. Thank you.
