Our mission is to foster an atmosphere in which human health and the university environment are safeguarded through education, regulatory compliance, and natural resource preservation and management.

  • EPA Audit
    The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) performs periodic compliance audits for air emissions, asbestos, lead-based paint, pesticides, PCB's, hazardous waste, regulated medical waste, waste water, universal waste, bulk chemical storage, oil storage, storm water, used oil and more.
  • Environmental Programs
    Get topical information on environmental issues that could affect the UB community.
  • Institutional Biosafety Committee
    A University Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) has been created in accordance with requirements set forth in the National Institutes of Health "Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules".
  • Radiation Safety Committee
    The Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) oversees the use of radioactive material and radiation producing equipment to ensure all work is conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Storm Water Reports
    UB developed, implements, and enforces a stormwater management program designed to reduce the discharge of pollutants from to the maximum extent practicable to protect water quality and to satisfy the appropriate water quality requirements of the Environmental Conservation Law and the Clean Water Act.
  • CFATS Chemical Survey
    If your lab is in a UB owned building, please complete the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) Chemical Inventory.
