We recognize the great work that the employees of the University at Buffalo Police Department have performed during the first quarter of 2022.
On 02/05/2022, Officers Guzman, Adamski, and Kostek effectively responded to a challenging domestic confrontation involving an especially combative subject. These officers were able to maintain their professionalism and composure while being subjected to threats and personal attacks during an extended period of time that continued from the initial incident location to the hospital where the subject was transported. In the words of one of the several coworkers who submitted their nomination, “The circumstances regarding the offender and our officers conduct make me very proud to work alongside them every day, knowing they do their very best to approach every call with the best intentions in mind. They are incredibly smart, proactive in their work and above all they truly care about the work they are doing.”
For their effective response to this challenging situation and continued commitment to professionalism, it is our pleasure to recognize Officers Guzman, Adamski, and Kostek as our Officers of the Quarter.
Several individuals also made note of the tremendous job Guy Harvey has been doing in the brief time since he has been promoted to Investigator. Guy has been able to solve several cases, including a series of burglaries in the residence halls and a related stolen credit card arrest. He has charged four individuals with identity theft and other related charges and successfully recovered a stolen vehicle. Guy has also continued to provide guidance on motor vehicle accident investigations to ensure they are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Keep up the great work Investigator Harvey!
