COBRA Continuation Health Coverage

Once you retire, you will receive notice that you are eligible to elect COBRA benefits at a monthly cost to you and for a specified period of time, depending on your negotiating unit.

CSEA Retirees

Coverage is provided and administered by your union. Your active employee coverage will end 28 days following your date of retirement. You will be given the option to enroll in COBRA, a program that allows you to continue your same coverage at full cost. CSEA may offer retiree plans.

Coverage is provided and administered by your union. Your active employee coverage will end at the end of the month that follows the month in which you retire. You will be given the option to enroll in COBRA, a program that allows you to continue your same coverage at full cost. UUP may offer retiree plans.

C-82, NYSCOPBA, PBANYS, PEF and M/C Retirees

Coverage is provided and administered through New York State. Your active employee coverage will end two full pay periods from your date of retirement. You will be given the option to enroll in COBRA, a program that allows you to continue your same coverage at full cost.
