About the Program

Our program is designed to provide students with the support and guidance needed to stay on track and succeed at UB.

Our mentors offer individualized mentorship, help set academic and personal goals, and provide encouragement to keep students motivated throughout their college journey. Our program also provides opportunities for skill-building, such as time management, study strategies, and self-advocacy skills, which are essential for academic success.

Our program may help mentors:

  • Make a difference and positively impact a first-year student’s UB experience!
  • Enhance their skills in coaching and guiding others
  • Get trained on a wide variety of UB resources that support student success including career, wellness, and leadership topics
  • Attain potential UB CRLA Peer Mentoring Certification.
  • Get the opportunity to connect with a wide network of faculty and staff dedicated to the success of the UB community

Our program may help mentees:

  • Stay on track by providing them with the support and direction needed to succeed at UB.
  • Meet other students with disabilities and help build a sense of community.
  • Discuss concerns or challenges that are experienced with their disabilities by providing a place for it.
  • Build meaningful relationships with staff and faculty throughout campus.
  • Connect students to available resources on and off campus.
