Get some exercise, or just relax on the water. You can go boating on scenic Lake LaSalle whether you’re a student, faculty, staff or member of the outside community.
If you’re a UB student, faculty or staff, you can use your current UB Card to get free loaner kayaks, canoes and paddle boards from the Lake LaSalle boat dock, located between the UB Commons and the Center for the Arts.
Lake LaSalle is typically open for boating from the end of April until November, weather permitting.
First-time paddlers must take part in a short instructional-based session regarding the rules, regulations and safety. Paddling instruction is available to those who do not know how to paddle; student staff will be on site during posted hours of operation – weather permitting)
Paddling in Lake LaSalle when water temperature is below 60 degrees requires each paddler to adhere to cold water paddling protocols.
You can find copies of the ACA Cold Water Survival at the Boat Dock and outside the gear office of Outdoor Pursuits in the Student Union (room 142).
Recognized clubs and organizations who want to have an event in or on the water, please complete the UBlinked events form through your organization's page. All other reservations can be made through the Student Union space reservation form.
