Adding and Removing Contacts in Jabber

Adding a Contact

To add someone at UB to your contacts:

  1. Search for the person by name or phone number
  2. Once you select their entry, right-click (Windows) or command-click (Mac) the call icon (green icon with a handset) and select Add Contact
  3. Either:
    • Choose the group from the Add group drop down, or
    • Click New group if it is a new group, enter a name for the new group and click Create
  4. Click Add

Alternately:

  1. Click the gear menu
  2. Select File > New > Contact
  3. Search for the name of the contact and select it
  4. Click Add

Adding a Custom Contact

To add a contact not at UB:

  1. Click the gear menu
  2. Select File > New > Custom contact
  3. Enter the information for the contact
  4. Click Create

Removing a Contact

To remove a contact from your contacts list:

Click the Contacts tab.

Right-click (command-click on Mac) the entry you want to remove and select Remove.
