Message limits

Learn about limits to storage, attachment size, number of recipients and more for UBmail (Exchange Online)

Storage quota

  • Faculty, Staff and Students: Your mailbox size is 100 GB.
  • Alumni and Retirees: Your mailbox size is 50 GB.

Sending limits

Faculty, Staff and Retirees:

  •  You may send a maximum of 10,000 messages every 24 hours.
  • You may send to a maximum of 500 recipients.

Students: 

  • You may send a maximum of 500 messages every 24 hours.
  • Restrict sending to external recipients (per hour): 100
  • Restrict sending to internal recipients (per hour): 250    

Alumni:

  • You may send a maximum of 200 recipients every 24 hours.
  • Restrict sending to external recipients (per hour): 50
  • Restrict sending to internal recipients (per hour): 50

Email attachment size limits

Messages you send or receive (including attachments) may not exceed:  

  • Outlook, Outlook on the web, Outlook for Mac: 50 MB
  • Outlook for iOS and Android: 33 MB
  • Encrypted messages: 25 MB
