Off-Campus Volunteer Opportunities
Serve your local community, meet new people, and get a better understanding of what it means to be a socially responsible citizen.
Social Change Saturdays provide opportunities once a month during the academic year for you to volunteer at a variety of locations throughout the Buffalo community. You can participate in as many Social Change Saturdays as you want.
These events are free for UB students, and transportation is always provided to off-campus service sites. You must register in advance on UBLinked to attend these events as space is limited.
Registering for a Social Change Saturday
- Visit UBLinked to find dates, times, and locations for each Social Change Saturday or special event.
- Registration typically opens a month prior to each event. Space is limited - please register early.
- After registering, you will receive an email about a week before the Social Change Saturday with your meet-up location, time, and other important information.

Attention Clubs and Groups!
Social Change Saturdays opportunities are for individual students or very small groups (under 5 people). They are not recommended for larger student clubs, groups, or organizations.
To organize a service project for your group, please contact Student Engagement or view opportunities near Buffalo/Niagara.
Volunteering can take place anywhere - even virtually! Visit these places for suggestions on where to get started on making a difference in your area.
Many industries look to hire or accept applicants who have some type of service experience. Record your volunteer hours on UBLinked in order for them to show up on your co-curricular transcript - it's an easy way to keep track of what you've done!
