SUNY International Health Insurance Plan (UHCSR)

The SUNY International Health Insurance Plan, provided through UnitedHealthcare (UHCSR), offers comprehensive health coverage for SUNY students, faculty, and staff participating in UB-related international travel. The plan ensures access to essential medical and emergency services while abroad, with $0 deductible, copay, and coinsurance.

Key benefits include:

  • Coverage for preventive care, illness, accidents and hospitalization.
  • Emergency medical, security, political and natural disaster evacuation, plus repatriation of remains.
  • Mental health services and prescription medications.
  • 24/7 travel assistance, including lost passport help and medical referrals.
  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage.

This plan addresses the limitations most domestic insurance has abroad, offering peace of mind and financial protection.

UB Traveler Assist, powered by International SOS, provides medical, security, and travel assistance. This program does not take the place of insurance. No matter where you go, you can reach expert support with a call or tap. Their experience helps reduce risks and offers solutions to unexpected challenges.

  • 24/7 Support: Access world-class medical and security professionals anytime, anywhere.
  • Emergency Assistance: Receive prompt and professional help during medical or security incidents, including evacuation if needed.

Forms

Dependents who are traveling internationally with a faculty/staff member, can enroll in UHCSR health insurance. UB is not responsible for the costs associated with their coverage.
