If you need to see a doctor or nurse for medical care, start by making an appointment with Student Health Services.
Student Health Services offers health care services to any registered UB student. If you are a UB student who is currently registered for classes, you can be seen regardless of the type of health insurance plan you have. You do not need to be insured through one of UB’s health insurance plans to utilize Student Health Services.
There is no cost to see any of the health care providers at Student Health Services (however, there may be a charge for immunizations, labwork and other services, depending on your health insurance).
Patients are limited to one appointment per day with a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
If you need to see a doctor or nurse for medical care, contact Student Health Services to make an appointment.
If you’re worried about your parents and family finding out, contact your health insurance company and ask that any “Explanation of Benefits” that involve you as patient be sent directly to you and not to your parents’ address. The “Explanation of Benefits” is a health insurance claim/payment statement that may list the specific types of lab tests and other care that you receive.
Student Health Services is located in Michael Hall, on UB's South Campus.
Get off at the Goodyear stop, cross the street and follow the sidewalk to Michael Hall.
Use one of the nearby bike racks to lock your bike.
Michael Hall is located on Michael Road, off of Bailey Avenue. You should receive an emailed parking pass the day before your appointment. Make sure you print and display this parking pass on your dashboard when you park in the Michael-Farber Lot. If you do not receive this parking pass, park in the 10-minute parking area next to the building and request a parking pass from our reception staff for free parking in the Michael-Farber Lot or Tower Lot. If these lots are both full, park in the Main/Bailey Lot.
If you arrive 10 minutes or more late for your scheduled appointment, you may be rescheduled for a future date and time.
