Register for Sorority Formal Recruitment

This process takes place at the beginning of each spring semester.  The sororities that participate in Formal Recruitment include:

• Alpha Gamma Delta              
• Alpha Sigma Tau
• Delta Phi Epsilon                   
• Phi Sigma Rho
• Phi Sigma Sigma                   
• Sigma Delta Tau                    

Academic eligibility must be verified before registration to participate in Formal Recruitment. The deadline to check eligibility and register for recruitment is February 15.

Students must have earned at least 12 college credits, a University at Buffalo GPA of at least 2.5, and attend one of the Sorority or Fraternity Information Sessions to be eligible for selection as a new member.  Recruitment, formerly referred to as pledging, occurs during the fall and spring semesters for most organizations.  

Fraternity/Sorority Information Sessions are required by the University for any student who is interested in joining a social fraternity or sorority. Registration in advance is not required. Session dates are available on the Fraternity & Sorority Life UBLinked page and posted flyers containing the QR Code.
