Every fall, families and students reunite to enjoy fun-filled days and nights on campus for Family Weekend. Join us, and be part of one of UB’s most exciting traditions.
This year, we're excited to offer Homecoming and Family Weekend on the same weekend! Our virtual Homecoming and Family Weekend at UB includes a schedule full of live events and entertaining webinars. From mind readers and coffee chats to a cookie bake along and a virtual 5K, you’ll find plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained.

Our famous UB Cookies are a hit on campus - and now they can be in your home, too! Grab your apron and a baking buddy and make some sweet memories.

Chef's Tip: Dough is best when refrigerated for 24 hours and can be used up to two weeks. Allow dough to soften prior to rolling.

Chef's Tips: Powdered or gel food coloring works best. Practice piping the border on a piece of paper before moving on to a real cookie. Never refrigerate a decorated cookie!

You are looking for good food, iconic Buffalo attractions, and are hoping to squeeze in a little time outdoors to enjoy some of the last few good days the season has to offer.

Canalside - The Canalside waterfront is a Buffalo staple and a great way to explore everything Buffalo has to offer. Canalside offers guided bus tours, kayak and paddle boat rentals, great dining options and a beautiful walking path. There are outdoor activities to participate in all year round including ice skating and ice hockey, and a variety of festivals. Canalside is an activity hub and the perfect location to make a quick stop with your family.
Buffalo and Erie Butterfly Garden - Located in the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, this Butterfly Garden is a great place to enjoy the over 2,000 free flying tropical butterflies in a rain forest setting. The glass-enclosed conservatory allows visitors to witness butterflies leaving their pupae to take their first flight along with a large variety of butterflies from all over the world. The Buffalo and Erie Butterfly Garden is open every day, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Elmwood Village - Located in the center of Buffalo this little neighborhood is located along Elmwood Avenue and offers a number of historic spots and attractions that add a layer of charm to this beautiful neighborhood. Elmwood Village features over 300 small local shops, coffeehouses, restaurants, bars, and art galleries, making it the perfect spot to explore on a quiet afternoon.
Allentown - Known for its community of artists, bohemian, hipster, and gay cultures, as well as its commitment to its residence, this historic neighborhood is the perfect place to do some exploring while grabbing a bite to eat at one of its local restaurants or coffee shops. You can also explore and view beautiful wall-size murals that cover many of the buildings in this exceptional Buffalo neighborhood, giving it an original energy unique to anywhere else in the city!
