Published March 20, 2024

Tough Topics are a weekly open forum to discuss local, national, global and trending news of interest to students.

Tough Topics

Join Diversity Advocates weekly in the Intercultural and Diversity Center (IDC) to talk about the tough topics UB students want to discuss.  Tough Topics are an hour-long open forum where we tackle difficult and controversial ideas, assess what is being presented as factual, and question current narratives. This is an opportunity to connect with other students to discuss campus issues, trending news stories (local, national, and global) civil rights, and more!

Recent topics include First-Year Frustrations, What Makes a Wall, Battling Seasonal Depression, Colorism, the Mental Health Crisis, the Culture of Halloween On College Campuses, etc.
