The Intercultural and Diversity Center organizes two University-wide recognition ceremonies for commencement weekend. Registration is open for both the ALANA and Lavender Ceremonies.
ALANA Celebration of Achievement
Thursday, May 18, 2023, 2 pm
The ALANA Pre-commencement Celebration honors the achievements of African, Latino/a, Asian and Native American students. This pre-commencement ceremony is open to all University at Buffalo graduating students, their families and friends. Registration is required.
LGBTQ+ Lavender Reception
Friday, May 12, 2023, 3 p.m.
The Lavender Reception is a commencement recognition ceremony that celebrates the achievements of graduating students who identify with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) community at UB.
