The Intercultural and Diversity Center organizes two University-wide recognition ceremonies for commencement weekend. Registration is open for both the ALANA and Lavender ceremonies.
ALANA Celebration of Achievement
Thursday, May 15, 2025, 2 p.m. - Center for the Arts
At the conclusion of each academic year, the Intercultural and Diversity Center hosts the ALANA (African, Latinx, Asian, and Native American) Celebration of Achievement hosts a pre-commencement ceremony honoring the achievements of those students who have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate/professional degree from the University at Buffalo.
LGBTQ+ Lavender Reception
Friday, May 9, 2025, 3 p.m. - 145 Student Union
The Lavender Reception is a commencement recognition ceremony that celebrates the achievements of graduating students who identify with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) community at UB.
