Assistant Vice President/Chief of Staff

Amy recently joined the Vice President for Research and Economic Development as Assistant Vice President for Administration and Planning, serving as Venu Govindaraju’s chief of staff. Since joining UB in 2009, she has worked with the university’s technology-based economic development team on the downtown campus focused on advocacy, operations and industry engagement.

Before joining UB, Amy was Vice President of the Jacobs Institute; Vice President for Public Affairs at the Buffalo Niagara Partnership; and Associate Director of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Amy moved home from Minneapolis in 2001 where she was a communications consultant for Towers Perrin. Previously, she managed a public management research project at Syracuse University, and worked on Capitol Hill as a congressional staff aid.  

Amy received her BA in History from Hamilton College and earned a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. She currently serves on the CMH Counseling Board of Directors and the Sisters Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees. Amy lives in Buffalo’s Parkside neighborhood with her family.
