Authorized users can view online floor plans for all UB buildings. Secure access is required to access the UB floor plans. You may need to run the Cisco Secure Client prior to logging in, depending on your connection.
Already have authorization to access floor plans? Log in with your UBITName and password.
Access to building floor plans is restricted to authorized groups and personnel for official university purposes. Departments such as University Police, UBIT’s Network & Classroom Service, Residential Facilities and University Facilities can access floor plans without requesting access.
FPMOs can request access on the Managing Facilities for Your Unit page.
All others should submit a formal request through the online FOIL request. Professors who require building information for an individual or class-wide project must submit a FOIL request. Students may not directly request floor plans; requests instead should come from the professor on behalf of the student, and only the specific building floor plans required for the project will be considered. Outside entities also must request access to floor plans and building information through a FOIL request. Those entities contracted to perform work on behalf of UB should work through their Project Manager to request the necessary documentation required for their work.
Information about student housing is available from the offices of Campus Living.
UB floor plans are provided in two formats. There is both an Adobe PDF and an Autodesk DWF. Either format allows layer control, measuring, markups, and quick access to specific rooms via bookmarks. DWFs may be viewed using the Autodesk Design Review. This software is free and provides the ability to view DWF floor plans. It requires administrative rights on your computer for installation, so contact your local IT person for assistance.
I get an error when I click on the link for a floor plan?
It is possible that you do not have the most current version of Autodesk Design Review. To check the version you have installed, open a floor plan and right click on the floor plan, choose Help and then About... You will be unable to view the floorplans if you have an older version. I am having trouble printing the floor plan?
What if I still need help?
At any time while viewing a drawing, you can hit the F1 key or right click on the floor plan and choose the Help menu. Within the menu is a section for getting help, plug-in's and touring the program. Further help for the Viewer is found on the Autodesk Website.
