Together, these trainings support a safe, ethical and welcoming campus community.

Most faculty and staff complete four required trainings each year. Any exceptions are noted.

Required by New York State and provided by Internal Audit in partnership with the New York State Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government, this training gives state employees an understanding of ethics laws governing public service and helps prevent ethics violations before they occur.
All New York State employees, including student employees. Research Foundation and UB Foundation employees are exempt.

Do I need to complete these every year?
Yes. All four trainings are required annually.
I completed qualifying training elsewhere. Can I submit that?
If the outside training meets the required guidelines, you may be able to submit proof of completion through the process listed by EDI at buffalo.edu/equity/trainings-and-presentations/external-cert
I completed Sexual Harassment Prevention and Title VI during new employee onboarding. Do I need to complete them again this year?
No. Completion during new employee onboarding counts toward the annual requirement for that year.
