Workforce Planning and Recruitment

The Workforce Planning and Recruitment unit is responsible for managing positions across the university. In this role, HR staff assists departments in creating new positions, hiring staff to fill those positions, reorganizing staff and positions when departments face changes, and managing negotiated salary increases.

Functional Services

Services that are provided by this area include:

  • Review and approve positions
  • Post vacancies
  • Assist applicants, references, search committees and hiring managers in the recruitment process
  • Manage canvass lists
  • Create and distribute appointment letters
  • Administer all State salary increases and lump sum awards
  • Ensure compliance with policies
  • Advise on department reorganizations
  • Advise on recruitment and classification best practices
  • Distribute line numbers
