UB is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment through inspection, education, and equipment resources.

  • Annual Fire Inspections
    10/13/25
    The New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control performs annual inspections of UB’s campus facilities for violations of the State Fire Code. Inspections begin in the fall and follow-ups are conducted at the start of the new year.
  • Building Evacuation Plans

    UB ensures that campus buildings are prepared in the event of an emergency.
  • Fire Extinguishers
    10/13/25
    Dry chemical and CO2 fire extinguishers are installed and maintained in all state buildings on each campus.
  • Hot Work Permit
    10/13/25
    All work that has the potential to start a fire may require a Hot Work permit.
  • Tents on Campus
    10/13/25
    Faculty or staff may arrange to use a tent for an event at UB on approval by space owners and Environment, Health and Safety.
