Zoom recently released a series of updates to the Workplace desktop and mobile apps, designed to make meetings simpler, whether you’re joining or hosting.

Zoom desktop app updates

  • Redesigned toolbar: The toolbar on the bottom of your meeting screen is simpler, so you only see what you need. If you want more options available, you can open the “More” menu, right click to pin items, or drag any button to reposition it on the toolbar.
  • Meeting settings in one place: All meeting settings are now in a single panel on the right side of the Zoom window. You can open this panel directly for faster access to backgrounds, audio, and more.
  • Organized host tools: If you're running the meeting as a host or co-host, your host controls are now organized in one spot on the right of the screen.
  • New left navigation bar: The navigation bar is now on the left side when you first open the app. You can also decide what stays visible and what goes in the “More” section.
  • Redesigned app header: The new “+” button at the top of Zoom puts your actions in one spot: schedule a meeting, send a message, create a document, and more.

Zoom mobile app updates

  • Simple toolbar: Your most important actions stay right where you can see them. Everything else lives in a neat grid in the “More” menu.
  • Change settings in one place: Backgrounds, filters, avatars, captions, and audio settings are all in one place under “Settings.”
  • Easier ways to share: Want to share something during your meeting fast? It's all in one “share” menu. Choose what you want faster to keep the conversation going.
