Editing Panopto Recordings

Hover over a recording and click the Edit button. This will open a new tab in your browser for the Panopto editor.

Note: Some older recordings need to be restored before they can be edited. For these, you will see a message Getting your video ready for editing with a progress bar indicating the time left to process. The longer the video, the longer this process will take.

In the editor you can now save a copy of your edited video and choose to completely remove unwanted parts of a recording at the same time. using the Save as feature. This is particularly handy if you have a long video you want to cut into smaller parts.

Note: You do not need to apply your changes and edits in the original video before clicking Save as. Your Save as copy will include any changes that were made to the original even if they were not applied to that video. It’s like creating a new text document from an existing one.
