All UB employees (paid by State, Research Foundation, or UB Foundation) are required to complete mandatory employee Title VI training. Employees include paid student assistants, research assistants and graduate assistants. 

Students with paid appointments who complete the employee Title VI training do not need to take the student Title VI training.

Starting this academic year, New York State is requiring all colleges and universities to provide annual Title VI training to students and employees. A brief Title VI training course will appear in your My Courses section in UB Learns. The training includes an explanation of Title VI’s protections, examples of situations that could violate Title VI, how to file a report of discrimination or harassment, and how UB balances Title VI’s requirements with First Amendment (free speech) protections. All students are required to complete Title VI training.

·         Select the course, 2026 SUNY Student Title VI Training.

·         Watch the video.

·         Complete the acknowledgement.

If you completed Title VI training as a student employee, you have satisfied New York State’s requirement and do not need to take the student version of the training.
