Adding Another Device

We recommend enrolling at least two of your personal devices in Duo. This way, if your primary device becomes unavailable for any reason, you will be able to use your other enrolled device(s) to continue logging into UB services, and to manage enrollment of the unavailable device (if necessary).

Eligible devices

  • Smartphone with mobile app
  • Tablet with mobile app
  • Security key
  • Landline phone (faculty, staff, GAs and TAs only)
  • Touch ID-enabled device

To request a hardware token, please contact the UBIT Help Center.

Instructions for adding another device

1. Visit the Duo Two-Step Verification Manager

  1. On a laptop or desktop, go to twostep.buffalo.edu
  2. If necessary, login with your UBITName and password
  3. Verify your login request with your already-enrolled device or a passcode
  4. Click My Settings & Devices
  5. Verify your account with your already-enrolled device or a passcode a second time

2. Click Add another device

3. Select the desired device from the list

4. Follow the rest of the onscreen steps to complete enrollment of your second device
