What we do for the UB community

Enterprise Application Services (EAS) designs, implements and supports UB’s enterprise applications and campus data access and business intelligence systems. The unit works directly with campus business and academic offices, vendors and consultants to provide the applications and data needed for operations, planning and an improved student experience.

Who we support

  • Campus business and academic offices that use enterprise applications and reporting solutions.
  • Students, faculty and staff who rely on core systems such as HUB, MyUB and other institutional applications.
  • Institutional leaders and analysts who need data for decision making and reporting.

What we provide

  • Custom‑developed applications tailored to UB’s needs, including tools for student planning, portals and workflow.
  • Implementation, integration and support for vendor solutions such as HUB, UBCMS and other enterprise systems.
  • Institutional data management through operational data stores and data warehouses used for reporting and analytics.
  • Application integration services connecting UB systems to SUNY, state and cloud platforms.
  • Access administration and database administration for enterprise application environments.
  • Standards, templates and development practices that guide how enterprise applications are built and maintained.
  • Administration for the enterprise wide document management system.

Jim Gorman started his career with the University at Buffalo and UB Information Technology in 1987 as a Programmer/Analyst. He has since advanced through a series of progressively responsible management positions within Enterprise Application Services, culminating in his appointment as Director in February 2026.

Throughout his tenure at UB, Jim has led the implementation of numerous enterprise-level systems. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University at Buffalo School of Management in 1991.
