Identity and Access Management (IAM)
What we do for the UB community
Identity & Access Management (IAM) is a new unit focused on ensuring that the right people have the right access to the right resources at the right time. IAM centralizes and modernizes identity lifecycle and access governance across UB.
Who we support
- Students, faculty, researchers and staff who need secure, seamless access to UB systems and data.
- UBIT and distributed IT units that depend on consistent, modern identity and access services.
What we provide
- Identity lifecycle management for people and accounts across UB systems.
- Authentication and authorization services that underpin secure access to applications and data.
- Privileged access management capabilities that align with best‑practice security standards.
- Access governance processes that address regulatory, cybersecurity and audit requirements.
- Partnership with campus units to align access models with institutional and departmental needs.
When you might work with us
- You are designing or operating a system that will rely on central identity and access services.
- You have questions about access governance, privileged access or identity lifecycle for a service.
