What we do for the UB community

Administrative Operations ensures that UBIT operates with excellence, consistency and reliability by delivering efficient, compliant and responsive operational services. The unit provides the physical, logistical and administrative foundation that enables technology teams across UB to function seamlessly and support the university’s evolving research, academic and operational needs.

Who we support

  • UBIT leadership and central IT units that rely on shared facilities, assets and logistics.
  • Technology teams that need coordinated administrative support for daily operations.

What we provide

  • Facilities management and space planning for the VPCIO / UBIT organization.
  • Physical and IT asset inventory and lifecycle management, including tracking and coordination of equipment.
  • Software procurement and licensing coordination in partnership with other finance functions.
  • Fleet (vehicle) oversight and logistics to support field and on‑campus work.
  • Travel, scheduling and administrative support functions for UBIT staff and leaders.
  • Operational policy development, compliance activities and risk‑reduction processes.
  • Business operations that support continuity and organizational efficiency across UBIT.

Colleen Schultz joined the University at Buffalo in 2024, bringing extensive experience in administrative operations across educational, municipal, and healthcare environments. Prior to UB, she supported curriculum, technology, and administrative leadership functions within public-sector organizations, with responsibilities spanning purchasing, professional development coordination, tax collection, and records management.

 As Supervisor, Administrative Operations, Colleen provides leadership and oversight for administrative and operational functions, supporting efficient day‑to‑day operations and effective service delivery. Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Buffalo State University and brings a people‑centered perspective to administrative leadership.
