The University at Buffalo Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) recognizes the importance of on-campus mentoring. For this reason, we proudly recognize faculty research mentors who go above and beyond to support our students.
The UB CSTEP Outstanding Faculty Research Mentor Award honors faculty members who have impacted CSTEP undergraduate students’ academic and professional careers. Nominated by students, winners of this award also stand apart for their support of CSTEP’s mission to increase the success of talented students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and the licensed professions.
Nominees must be current UB faculty members who have provided research mentoring to CSTEP students. During the nomination process, students will be asked to answer questions about how their faculty research mentor impacted them in the following areas:
While the above criteria provide guidelines, students are encouraged to include any additional information about their nominee that may help during the selection process.
The CSTEP Advisory Board chooses Outstanding Faculty Research Mentor Award recipients.
