Campus Health Educator

Service learning combines meaningful service with instruction and reflection to enrich learning, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities. You can get involved through CSTEP’s Campus Health Educator (CHE) program. Partnering with ConnectLife for this service learning opportunity, CHEs raise awareness and educate the UB community on the importance of blood and organ donation through an awareness campaign and/or organ donor registry and blood drive.

  • The 3 credit service learning class is held each spring semester on Wednesdays, 3-5 p.m
  • Open to all UB undergraduates.
  • Available by application only (if accepted you will be notified on how to register for the class). 
  • CHE 2026 mandatory in-person orientation/training dates will be Wednesday, January 14- Saturday, January 17, 2026 (the week prior to classes beginning).

  • Learn about social determinents of health and healthcare disparities. 

Requirements:

  • Must attend orientation dates AND class sessions (classes held on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on North Campus).
  • Teams will conduct educational workshops for UB and Buffalo communities.
  • Must complete 50-75 service hours (half are accomplished via the mandatory orientation in January). 
  • Must plan and facilitate a campus-wide blood and organ donor registry drive.

Application Due Date: Monday, December 8, 2025

Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by early December.
