The names and marks of the University at Buffalo are valuable assets and should be presented with dignity and taste, both internally and externally. The UB Office of Trademarks and Licensing serves university interests in the following areas:
Maintenance of the university's legal rights by monitoring and controlling the use of UB trade names and trademarks.
Promotion of the university's image by licensing goods that reflect positively on the university.
Protection of the university's interests associated with liabilities inherent in the production of manufactured goods representing the university.
Research and learning for the university, other academic institutions, and the industry.
