Campus visits set for law dean finalists

Published March 29, 2024

Five finalists in the search for a new dean for the School of Law will visit UB during the next two weeks to meet with senior academic and administrative leadership, faculty, staff, students and alumni.

Public forums with the finalists will take place from 11 a.m. to noon April 5, 9, 10, 11 and 12 in 310 Capen Hall, inside Oscar A. Silverman Library. At these sessions, the finalists will provide introductory remarks and talk with those attending the meeting.

The names and CVs of the finalists will be available on the search website 48 hours prior to each candidate’s visit. Members of the UB community will need to log in with their UBIT name and password to gain access to finalists’ names and CVs.

For those who cannot attend in person, a livestream will be available on the search website at the time of each open session. Additionally, a recording of each session will be posted on the search website after the open session and will be available until noon on April 15.

Confidential surveys to gather feedback on each finalist will be available on the search website following their visits. All feedback must be submitted by noon on April 15.

The search is seeking a successor to Aviva Abramovsky, who stepped down as dean of the School of Law last July to return to her faculty role as professor of law. UB law professor S. Todd Brown has been serving as interim dean.
