Learn more about UB's welcome for F-1 and J-1 international students.
International Student Welcome Schedule
In addition to any orientation program provided by your academic department, graduate international students will participate in International Student Welcome in-person programs and activities.
Graduate International Student Welcome provides programs and activities specifically for international students to welcome you to UB, and help you get settled before the start of your first semester here.
To access the schedule, join the Fall 2023 International Student Welcome group in UBLinked.
- Log into UBLinked using your UBIT name and password.
- In the Search Box type: Fall 2023 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT WELCOME
- Under Organizations, click on “Fall 2023 International Student Welcome”.
- Click on “JOIN”.
- Refresh the main page.
- On the main page, click on “VIEW MORE EVENTS” to see the full Fall 2023 International Student Welcome Schedule. (This feature is not available when viewing the Fall 2023 International Student Welcome group webpage on your phone. You will need to use a computer to view all the events.)
- We recommend that you RSVP to all of the Fall 2023 International Student Welcome programs, events and opportunities that you will attend.
Your Event Pass is needed when attending International Orientation events.
- In the top right corner of the UBLinked webpage, click the circle with your initials or your picture.
- Click on the blue QR code.
- Save a picture of your Event Pass QR code or add it to the wallet on your phone/mobile device for easier access.
You will use the Event Pass to sign into events during International Student Welcome and at other programs and events while you are a student at UB.
Download the CORQ app to view International Student Welcome events on your mobile device(s). You must first join the Fall 2023 International Student Welcome events.
- Open the app store on your phone/mobile device.
- Search for "CORQ" and add the app to your device.
- After opening the app, click on “Sign In to your Campus” and sign in using your UBIT name and password.
- If you are prompted to select a campus, choose, "UBLinked"
- On the Events page:
- Click on “My” to see the events to which you have RSVP’d.
- Click on “Campus” to see a list of all events happening on UB campus.
- To access your Event Pass in the CORQ app:
- Click on the orange angle bracket on the top of the screen.
- Click on “Event Pass”.
You must first join the Fall 2023 International Student Welcome group in UBLinked before you can see the International Student Welcome events in the CORQ app.
Welcome Series
The Welcome Series sessions and activities are informative, useful, and important as you continue your transition to UB throughout your first semester on campus.
Fall 2023 Welcome Series programs and activities will be shared during the summer and throughout the Fall 2023 semester.
International Orientation & Welcome Series Fee
The International Orientation and Welcome Series Fee is a one-time charge for international student new to the UB campus that covers the New to UB orientation programming for undergraduate students, and the International Student Welcome programming for graduate students.
The International Orientation and Welcome Series Fee is $105. The fee will appear on your UB bill during the second or third billing cycle. The fee is charged to all new students, and is not charged based on your choice of participation.
