UB to offer free dental care to WNY vets

Published September 22, 2023

The School of Dental Medicine will present its eighth annual Dentistry Smiles for Veterans on Nov. 11, an initiative dedicated to honoring veterans.

Throughout the day, up to 200 veterans – many of whom lack dental insurance or do not qualify for dental treatment through the Veterans Health Administration, a benefit reserved only for those with service-related dental injuries – will receive care that ranges from simple cleanings to oral surgery.

The event, taking place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the UB Dental Clinic in Squire Hall, will be staffed by more than 200 professional including Buffalo-area dentists and hygienists, and UB dental students, faculty and staff.

All veterans are welcome. Appointments are limited. To schedule a visit, call 716-829-2780.

Dentistry Smiles for Veterans is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the School of Dental Medicine and the Eighth District Dental Society, a partnership dedicated to ensuring our veterans receive the care they deserve.
