Every year in the fall, the Research Foundation (RF) and New York State have open enrollment or option transfer periods where employees can choose to make a change to their current health plan or opt-out of coverage. This year, the Research Foundation health insurance open enrollment period for regular and graduate student employees will be November 1 - 30. The state option transfer period is expected to begin in December.
We will share more specific dates and time frames when they are released. In preparation, you can establish an online account now where you can make desired changes when the period begins.
Health Insurance Option Transfer period for State employees is expected to begin in December. State employees enrolled in health insurance programs can create a MyNYSHIP account now to use later on to make changes. By establishing an online MyNYSHIP account, you will be able to make changes to your health insurance carrier and conveniently and securely review benefits and conduct transactions in real time. Once you have established your account, you can request an activation code that will be mailed to you. The activation code will allow you to make changes during the option transfer period.
The open enrollment period for Research Foundation (RF) employees which includes making changes to health benefits and Flexible Spending Accounts will begin November 1 and end November 30, 2021. You can establish an RF Employee Self-Service account now which you can use to make desired changes when the period begins.
