Governor Cuomo recently signed legislation that grants employees time off to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. Effective March 12, 2021, under this new law, employees will be granted up to four hours of excused leave per injection that will not be charged against any other leave the employee has earned or accrued.
Every November, enrollees in the NYS Health Insurance Program (NYSHIP) may elect to participate or not participate in the Pre-Tax Contribution Program (PTCP) for the upcoming plan year. During November, current PTCP enrollees may also make changes to their coverage (without a qualifying event) which impact the NYSHIP deduction for the upcoming plan year.
As a result of the recently ratified contract for Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA), and an administrative extension of collectively bargained benefit changes to employees designated Management/Confidential (M/C) in the Executive branch there will be a Special Option Transfer Period, when affected employees may make changes to their NYSHIP coverage.
The New York State Teachers’ Retirement System (NYSTRS) will hold their Annual Meeting of Delegates in October or November 2023. As a participating institution, the University at Buffalo is eligible to elect one delegate to attend this meeting.
The Governor’s Office of Employee Relations (GOER) and United University Professions (UUP) announced the allocation of funds for Individual Development Awards (IDA) for activity between July 2, 2022 and March 31, 2023.
