Key Updates

Parking and Transportation Services hosted two town hall meetings about our mitigation plans for Furnas Lot, which will become the site for Agrusa Hall, a new engineering and applied sciences building.

Construction is slated to begin in early December. Cones will be placed around the lot during this time.

Parking Mitigation

  • When Furnas Lot goes offline, parking options will shift to the Jarvis Lots and continue counterclockwise, resulting in the Governors, Jarvis and Ketter lots filling up earlier than previous years. The Graduate School of Education moving out of Baldy Hall will free up 150 parking spots.
  • A portion of Jarvis B will transition to faculty and staff parking only in exchange for having an equivalent number of student-only spots in Hochstetter A
  • 4 ADA spots will be added to the Bookstore Lot and 4 to the Ketter Lot.
  • The Lake LaSalle Lot will change from student-only to shared. This is to encourage employees working in the Student Union to park and walk behind the Center for the Arts to their destinations. To the Student Union, the furthest point of the Lake LaSalle Lot is equidistant to the furthest point of the Jarvis A Lot, which is approximately 1,400 feet.

Transportation Mitigation

  • Southbound Stampede passengers will no longer be able to board at Lee Loop and will be directed to board at Flint Loop instead.
  • The bus shelter on the left side of Lee Loop will be removed due to construction.
  • UB Stampede All Stops will continue to drop passengers off at Lee Loop and pick up passengers heading northbound toward Ellicott.
  • The Red Line will remain unchanged and Yellow Line service will increase to account for more passengers being directed from Lee Loop to Flint Loop.
