Embed a UB Box File or Folder on Another Website (Such as UB Learns)

Learn how to get HTML code from Box that can be used to display a UB Box file or folder contents on UB Learns, a blog, a website, or anywhere you can put an HTML “iframe".

Instructions

Step 1: Set Up Sharing of the File or Folder

  1. Log into your UB Box account and locate the file you want to share.
  2. Click the Share arrow icon next to the file or folder you want to embed.
  3. Click the slider for Create Shared Link so that it is turned on
  4. Click the access type (on the bottom left, labeled People in your company by default) triangle and choose People with the link.
  5. Click Link Settings. Here you can customize the document’s URL, determine an expiration date for the document’s availability, or decide whether or not people who have access to the document can download it.
  6. Click Save, then Close.

Step 2: Get the Embed Code

  1. Select the 3 dots icon next to the document to be embedded.
  2. Select More Actions > Embed Widget.
  3. Select Copy next to Embed Code URL to copy the code to your clipboard.
  4. Close the Embed Widget window.

Step 3: Embed the Code

Paste your code into the place you want to include it, such as in UB Learns.

Common Questions

Do people need a Box account to see embedded Box files and folders?

No. As long as you correctly set the permissions as “Anyone with the link” as described above, anybody visiting the Web page where you have embedded your file or folder will be able to see it.

Can I allow people to download multiple files at once?

Yes. If you use the steps above to share and embed a folder, and use advanced options to permit downloads, visitors to your site will be able to download the entire folder as a “ZIP” file (a common format for compressing files).
