This help website is only for Blackboard.

UB's primary Learning Management System is now UB Learns, powered by Brightspace.

About Assignments

Assignments allow you to create coursework and manage the grades and feedback for each student separately. In an assignment, you can include a description, a point value and file attachments. You can also create assignments in several courses areas, such as in a content area or folder.

Students access the assignment, type a submission or attach files and then submit it. You can respond to each student separately with comments and attached files.

SafeAssign

SafeAssignments are similar to the Assignment tool except SafeAssign is used to investigate the originality of a student’s work.

You will also have any attached files that the student submitted.

Bb Annotate

Bb Annotate converts documents so instructors can add feedback. The conversion process may change the spacing of some document formats, including Microsoft Word. The spacing issue does not effect PDFs. Instructors can also download the original file that the student submitted.

Bb Annotate allows instructors to provide customizable feedback to students for uploaded documents. Features of Bb Annotate include a sidebar summary view, freehand drawing tools, various color selections, and much more.
