This help website is only for Blackboard.
UB's primary Learning Management System is now UB Learns, powered by Brightspace.
Assignments allow students to submit files to the instructor. SafeAssign is now integrated into assignments.
Assignments allow you to create coursework and manage the grades and feedback for each student separately. In an assignment, you can include a description, a point value and file attachments. You can also create assignments in several courses areas, such as in a content area or folder.
Students access the assignment, type a submission or attach files and then submit it. You can respond to each student separately with comments and attached files.
SafeAssignments are similar to the Assignment tool except SafeAssign is used to investigate the originality of a student’s work.
The Clear Attempt button in the Assignment Information section will delete the assignment submitted by the student, your notes and feedback, and reset the grade.
The filename defaults to the Assignment name, and the file will be saved as a .zip file. When unzipped, you will have a small text file that contains: Student Name, Assignment Name, Date and Time submitted, Current Grade, and Comments from the student. You will also have any attached files that the student submitted.
Bb Annotate converts documents so instructors can add feedback. The conversion process may change the spacing of some document formats, including Microsoft Word. The spacing issue does not effect PDFs. Instructors can also download the original file that the student submitted.
Bb Annotate allows instructors to provide customizable feedback to students for uploaded documents. Features of Bb Annotate include a sidebar summary view, freehand drawing tools, various color selections, and much more.
Use our contact form to submit a help ticket (you may be asked for your UBITName and password). After the form is submitted, a member of the UB Learns support team will follow up with you within one business day.
