Entering Grades in HUB

The following steps will help you import your grades from UB Learns into HUB.

1.  Navigate to your course in UB Learns. In the navbar, click the Grades button (or select Instructor Only, Course Admin and select Grades from the list).

2. Make certain that your final calculated grade is listed as a letter grade. If it is not, you will need to adjust your grade scheme, which can be done by clicking Schemes from the Grades page.

3. From the Schemes page, make certain your Letter – Template is selected as the Default Scheme. You can select the check next to the Set As Default column to make this change (if needed)

4. Return to the Grades page.

5. On the Grades page, click the Export button to format your grades into an acceptable file type to be uploaded to HUB.

6. On the Export Grades page, make sure the Key Field radio button is selected for Both; under Grade Values, make sure that Grade Scheme is the selected option. Under the Choose Grades to Export, select only the Final Calculated Grade or Final Adjusted Grade (this will depend on your individual grade book settings you established when you set up your grade book).

7. Click the Export to CSV button at the bottom of the page.

8. A download will be generated. Click the Download button and save to a preferred location. An important note: The name of the file generated will be quite long and can cause problems; the system limit is 60 characters. You will need to rename this file to fall under that limit so that the HUB system can accept the file upload.

9. Navigate to HUB Faculty Center. This can easily be done through the MyUB homepage.

10. Select the Grade Roster for the course for which you will be uploading your grades. In the case of this example, we will be using UBC399MNT-112.

14. To ensure a successful upload, please refer to the following guidelines:

16. You should see the grades uploaded. You may note that there is an Invalid Grade listed; this will occur in scenarios such as an F grade. For these types of grades, you will need to manually adjust the grade (instructions on that later in this document). If the grades appear correct (even if some are listed as invalid), click Apply Grades at the bottom of the classlist.

17. You will return to Grade Roster screen. Here is where you can make any manual changes to your grades prior to submission.

18. This is especially important in the case of the aforementioned invalid grades. At this point, you can review, approve, and post grades as normal. Select the Approval Status from the dropdown menu in the Grade Roster Actions section, then select Save

19. At the bottom of the Grade Roster, click Post to officially post the grades to the HUB system.
