Eduardo Salas, PhD, is an internationally recognized expert on the science of teamwork, fostering team effectiveness, design and implementation of team training strategies, and he’s the author of teamwork guidelines for health care and other industries. Salas is a leader in the field of teamwork and cross-disciplinary leadership training, having authored, co-authored or edited more than 480 journal articles, book chapters and books.

In this workshop, Salas will discuss evidence-based competencies, best practices and guidelines for developing effective teams and training team leaders and followers. Salas will also share his thoughts on the effectiveness of team training programs and describe what matters in developing teamwork. The session will consist of a mixture of lecture and small group activities to identify and apply potential solutions that promote and sustain multidisciplinary health research.
