Equivalence testing has grown significantly in importance over the last two decades especially as its relevance to a variety of applications has become understood. Here, we formalize the statistical concept of equivalence and introduce two-sided equivalence testing problems. We demonstrate the concepts and application of equivalence testing methodology on several example datasets.
