Info for members (UB GitHub)

Once you receive the email notification that you have been added to a UB GitHub Enterprise Organization, you're ready to set up your account.

1. Create a GitHub account with your UB email address

Go to github.com
Click Sign up
Create a GitHub account by entering:
- Your UBmail address
- A GitHub username (does not need to match your UBITName)
- A GitHub password (this should not be the same as your UBITName password)
Click Create account
GitHub will send an 8-digit launch code to your UBmail. Click the Open GitHub link in the email
Enter the launch code where indicated in the GitHub site

2. Follow the link in the GitHub invitation email

It may take up to 24 hours after creation for the Organization account to be available.

Open the invitation email from noreply@github.com to complete your UB GitHub account setup.

3. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your GitHub account

You will receive an email from GitHub inviting you to enable required two-factor authentication (2FA) on your UB GitHub account. Follow the email link and onscreen instructions.
