Requesting Software from UB for UB-Owned Computers

• Microsoft Windows 10 (Windows)
• Microsoft Windows 11 (Windows)

• Spirion Enterprise Managed (Windows, Mac)

Be sure to specify:

• your operating system
• the software product
• the version you need

Adobe Acrobat Pro is provided automatically to all faculty at UB. Staff with a work need may request approval for getting Adobe Acrobat Pro through their Departmental IT Staff.

The University at Buffalo participates in the SUNY Microsoft Campus Agreement.  The licensing agreement includes institutional usage rights for the following products: 

• Office Professional Plus for Windows
• Office for Mac
• Client Access Licenses for department use only (Server licenses are not included)
  • Windows Server Standard
  • Active Directory Rights Management Services
  • Exchange Server Standard and Enterprise
  • SharePoint Server Standard and Enterprise
  • Lync Server Standard and Enterprise
  • System Center Configuration Manager
  • System Center Client Management Suite
  • Forefront Protection Suite, Endpoint Protection and Unified Access Gateway

Key codes are available to Distributed IT Directors and their designees.  

Distributed IT Directors should send a request with the UBITName of the individual.

IT Staff at UB can access additional software resources for UB-owned computers, including in-house administrative tools and the managed version of Spirion.
