Spirion Unmanaged: Macintosh

Find, remove or secure Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from a computer.

PII is information that can be used to uniquely identify, contact or locate a single person or can be used with other sources to uniquely identify a single individual, e.g. Social Security Numbers, credit card numbers or bank account numbers associated with a person's name or identity.

  1. Open the saved file mac_Spirion12.5.0.0_noConsole.zip
  2. Control-click on the unizpped Spirion.pkg file and select Open
  3. Select Open
  4. The software installer will launch. Click Continue
  5. Click Install
  6. Enter your computer's username and password when requested, then click Install Software
  7. A notice will appear that the installation was successful. Click Close

PII Within Email

  • UBmail (Exchange Online): Spirion (Identity Finder) Unmanaged helps identify email messages that contain PII directly, and you can click the Shred option to shred them.
  • UBmail (gmail): Spirion (Identity Finder) Unmanaged cannot shred messages that contain PII directly, but will identify those messages for you to delete manually.

Eligibility

Spirion (Identity Finder) Unmanaged may be downloaded by UB faculty, staff and students.
