Technical Configuration of UB Box Folders Used for Storing Restricted Data

Learn how to set up UB box folders securely.

Although UB Box itself is a secure platform, folder configuration choices and user actions and choices determine how secure a given piece of data is.

Folder ownership and settings are key to the security of data in UB Box. When logging in to UB Box for everyday work, users will interact with a variety of shared and private folders, each with its own level of security set by its owner. To maintain security, approved restricted data may only be contained in a folder owned by a USDA or UHDA, although users will interact with this data from within their personal UB Box account. Changes to the default technical configurations described below must be approved by the appropriate security/privacy officials.
