UB educators, both in person at Pharmacy 125 and virtually via Zoom, attended an IT Technology Town Hall on Thursday, October 26, 2023 for a look at cutting-edge classroom technology, a discussion on Brightspace, and more.

Technology Town Halls give UB faculty and educators a look at what's coming next in technology at UB, and an opportunitiy to ask questions and share their feedback.

UB's Assistant Vice President and Information Security Officer Joe Grupp reviewed UB's new policy and process to use software or web-based services using UB-owned devices or with university data.

AirMedia wireless presentation devices in UB classrooms (in-person only)

An overview of Creston AirMedia wireless presentation technology that allows for simple sharing content and collaborating from any device in UB classrooms. UB faculty learned how they can incorporate this technology into their teaching.

UB Learns (Brightspace) updates/tips

The Office of Curriculum, Assessment and Teaching Transformation (CATT) provided an overview of Blackboard’s final days, access for winter and spring courses, UB’s data retention policy and what it means for past, present and future courses, as well as training, including upcoming sessions, where to get more help one-on-one or requesting department trainings.

Top Hat updates

Top Hat representatives reviewed the latest new and updated Top Hat features, in addition to lesser known features that can help instructors boost engagement in the classroom.
