Just in time for the Fall 2023 semester, UBIT has completed an upgrade of campus Wi-Fi. Students, faculty and staff should notice better connectivity in key locations.
All residence hall rooms, including Greiner Hall, now boast their own dedicated access point. This means far less chance for interruptions in online learning, research, communication and entertainment for students living on campus.
Hadley Village, Flint Village, Creekside Village, Flickinger Court and South Lake Village apartments have also received the latest Wi-Fi boost with upgraded access points in each room or suite.
Whether you’re looking for a spot to study or relax, improved Wi-Fi coverage around Ellicott Complex and Crosby Hall will keep you better connected while you enjoy some fresh air. Additionally, UBIT is planning major rehabilitations of outdoor Wi-Fi on North and South Campus.
While campus residential and outdoor areas have been upgraded with new Wi-Fi access points, the classroom Wi-Fi experience has been improved with network technology that increases the efficiency and security of existing access points. Academic and research buildings are embracing the future with new 6E connections that offer lightning-fast speeds for research, teaching and learning.
