DENTITE
Dentite’s AI-powered medical billing platform makes it easy for patients to pay for dental treatments through medical insurance, which helps dental practices improve patient care while generating up to 12% new revenue. With funding and startup support from UB, Dentite continues to expand the platform’s automation capabilities.
CHALLENGE & OPPORTUNITY
The dental industry faces mounting economic pressures from a combination of annual declines in average practice income and insurance reimbursements, compounded by increased costs for supplies and materials, lab fees and staff wages. Without new revenue streams, these trends threaten practice viability and limit patient access to quality care. Founded by a dentist who experienced these realities first-hand, Dentite saw an opportunity to reverse this trajectory by unlocking qualifying medical insurance reimbursements for everyday dental procedures.
SOLUTION & OUTCOME
Dentite leverages AI-driven medical coding, seamless practice management software (PMS) and electronic health records (EHR) integrations and payer compliance automation to manage the entire claims process for common dental procedures and reduce the need for manual entry. This allows practices to capture additional revenue through medical insurance reimbursements, improving financial sustainability while expanding patient access to critical preventive dental care to improve clinical outcomes.
UB SUPPORT
Through UB Cultivator, Dentite received mentorship support and an early $100K investment that helped catalyze an oversubscribed $1M pre-seed round. The company currently leases office space at the UB Incubator @ CBLS. BEP also connected Dentite to valuable partners across the university, facilitating research collaborations and economic development opportunities. These included a briefing with the NYS Legislature on AI-driven healthcare optimization, clinical expertise and research partnerships with the UB School of Dental Medicine, and technical support from highly skilled computer science master’s students through BEP’s Career Experience Program, who have helped accelerate product development.
