NEXT-GENERATION SEQUENCING FOR DISCOVERY & GROWTH
Located on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus and the first next-generation sequencing service provider in the region, UB's Genomics and Bioinformatics Core Facility provides high-quality services including massively parallel sequencing, single cell technologies, bulk transcriptome, epigenome, microbiome and spatial transriptome platforms. Our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive and cost-effective genomic/transcriptomic and bioinformatics services to UB's scientific community, partner institutions, and industry collaborators.
The UB Genomics and Bioinformatics facility leverages the latest genomic platforms and services, as well as dedicated bioinformatics experts, to serve your R&D goals. We will work with you to customize solutions to help you get one step closer to your commercialization goal.
State-of-the art instrumentation and expertise in genomics Et bioinformatics to fuel your research.
We perform nucleic acid extraction, library prep, sequencing and bioinformatics.
The UB Genomics and Bioinformatics core provides all next generation sequencing services from nucleic acid extraction through bioinformatics analysis. We provide expert consultation services to help design your sequencing project to optimize data produced for your project. From bacteria to human and all organisms in between, we offer a range of methodologies for our providers including:
The core facility is well equipped to handle a wide array of sequencing analysis, with three dedicated bioinformatics analysts on staff. The GBC leverages UB’s Center for Computational Research (CCR) high-performance compute system to rapidly analyze datasets generated at our facility.
Every research project is unique, therefore we highly encourage reaching out to the core facility for project planning and bioinformatics consultation prior to sequencing. Fee-for-service and collaborations-based models are available depending on the project needs.
We welcome collaborations on both research projects and commercial endeavors. Contact us prior to submitting samples, as timing and viability of cells is essential for successful processing. During the consultation period we can address your questions and discuss sample preparation for your sequencing project.
Fuel your research with state-of-the art instrumentation and expertise in proteomics and biopharmaceutical analysis in our Proteomics & Bioanalysis Core.
Our integrated, enterprise-level biorepository program offers biospecimen processing and storage services to support healthcare research and development.
Advance your discoveries and give them room to grow with fully equipped laboratories and specialized amenities in our life sciences incubator spaces.
