POP BIO and CEPI announce collaboration for faster responses to ‘Disease X’

BEP-supported pharmaceutical start-up POP BIO is being awarded up to $1.5 million from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) to advance research into POP BIO’s SNAP™ (Spontaneous Nanoliposome Antigen Particleization) protein vaccine platform.

The new research is set to investigate the company's pioneering approach using protein-tagging technology in nanoparticles that could speed up making vaccines against epidemic and pandemic threats, including a future ‘Disease X’. ‘Disease X’ refers to an unknown pathogen with pandemic potential that could emerge in the future. POP BIO's SNAP technology has been designed to rapidly and simply develop potent and cost-effective nanoparticle vaccine candidates for all types of infectious disease.
